Watermelon is a Wonder Food in my Opinion. I find that when I eat Sweet Juicy Watermelon, it not only helps to Stop Constipation it also is a BIG help to me to Lose Weight. It is wonderful as a snack to help you pass on the Nasty Foods that cause constipation or weight gain.

Watermelon is thought to be an anti-inflammatory which is believed to help with conditions such as Diabetes, Colon Cancer, Asthma, Arteriosclerosis and even Arthritis. Some say it is one of the best foods to help you lose weight. I can attest to that.

We all get off course at times on our weight loss journey or even on our journey to stop constipation and need a little help to get back on tract. Watermelon is one of my best go to foods to help get back on track. Why? It is because it contains a lot of water, is sweet and tasty and full of fiber to fill you up. The water content in Watermelon and the fiber helped to stop hunger and stop constipation.

Watermelon is packed with Antioxidants and Vitamin C. It is also a great source for Vitamin A and Beta carotenes which help to neutralize Free Radicals. Free Radicals are substances in our body which can cause a lot of damage. They can oxidize Cholesterol making it more capable of sticking to our blood vessel walls which in turn can lead to Stroke or Heart Attack. Free Radicals can also make Asthma worse by causing your airways to narrow or even close.

Free Radicals are also thought to increase Inflammation of Rheumatoid Arthritis and the more common Osteoarthritis and can cause joint damage. They can even cause damage to the lining in your colon walls which can lead to Colon Cancer.

Vitamin C and Beta Carotene are great at getting rid of very Harmful Free Radical Cells and hopefully stave off Inflammation, Cancers, Heart Disease and such. Don’t forget about Constipation too. After all, this site is about How to Stop Constipation but I am also hoping to help people get healthier and maybe even lose weight. 1 Cup of Watermelon contains approximately 24% of our daily needs for Vitamin C and 11% of Vitamin A.

Watermelon is also a wonderful source of Carotenoid Lycopene. It even contains more Lycopene than any other Fresh Fruit or Vegetable, even the famous Tomato. Lycopene is known for its ability to lower the risks of Lung, Stomach and Prostate Cancer, so ladies, lets encourage our men to eat lots of Watermelon. There is hope that it even may be able to stave off other cancers such as: Pancreas, Colon/Rectal Esophagus, Breast and Cervical Cancers.

How about those Fabulous B Vitamins, B6 and B1, Potassium and Magnesium. Hum, Magnesium helps us to stop constipation.

So this absolutely Delicious Fruit God so Gracious Gave to Us has only 48 Calories. I NEVER measure how much Watermelon I Eat. I Eat as much as I want and still lose Weight. When it comes to most Vegetables and Watermelon there is no limit for me because I can only eat so much because it is so filled with water and fiber. This is one of the reasons why eating Watermelon on a diet is so helpful. It fills your sweet desires and fills you up. Think of it as a wonderful Dessert.

I find that when my husband or myself has the Watermelon all cut up it is easy and fast to grab so I will go to Watermelon instead of high fat or high calorie foods. I found that putting it in a colander within a bowl helps to keep the Watermelon fresh longer because the Juices seem to age it faster. Keep it above the juices or pour the juices in a container and use in your smoothies. Once cut up, keep refrigerated or cut into small pieces and freeze for your smoothies.

So, Watermelon for Weight Loss, Inflammation, Stop Constipation, Smoothies, General Nutrition and Health and it just plain Tastes Wonderful.

Note from Little Linda Pinda:  After having company, traveling to weddings, I got off track a bit and put a few pounds back on and started having a bit of constipation because I started eating what everyone else was eating.  I just can’t do that.  When I saw the Big Ripe Watermelon in the Grocery Store, my eyes lit up and I knew that Watermelon was going to help with the constipation and lose weight.  Well, it did and does.   Take the time to cut it up.  I am lucky because my husband is motivated to help me and he usually cuts it all up for me.  I show him a lot of appreciation for that.  I tell him it gets me back on track to Lose Weight and Watermelon helps Stop Constipation.  He knows what I have been through.  He is so sweet to always tell me I don’t need to lose weight but is supportive when I feel I need to.

Please take the time to look over some of my favorite pages on Stop Constipation.  It is full of wonderful and helpful information.
