My husband complained at first when we switched from white pasta and white rice to whole grain and now the white stuff seems too boring and nothing-like for him.  One of the causes of constipation is the refined high glycemic index foods people are eating.  Give up completely eating White Flours, Sugars, Pastas, Potatoes etc…  All you have to do is simply eat Brown or Wild Rice, Sweet Potatoes, Whole Grain Breads and Cereals, use Whole Wheat Flour (I use half white and half whole wheat flour in some recipes but I really love Whole Wheat Pastry Flour, that way I avoid having to use any white flour).

My husband has seen the difficulty I had in my life with chronic constipation that to support me he is now also eating a full dinner plate of fresh spinach and a variety of vegetables.  He didn’t have trouble with constipation but I have convinced him that he needs to watch how he eats for his heart health.

I will share my awesomely delicious recipes down the road.  I have a more difficult time getting him to add fruit to his diet.  So, to help him stop constipation and heart disease (which runs in his family) I add strawberries or oranges to his big spinach salad.  He just comment the other day how much he likes the oranges in his salad and thought that was a really good idea.  He really doesn’t have an issue with getting constipated, I am the one who needed and still needs home remedies for constipation.  Sure, when he is off, he will drink my smoothies, but at work, he tends to work right through lunch and doesn’t eat anything (this will also lower your metabolism).

He knows to avoid getting constipated, he needs to add fruit too to his diet.  Besides fruit being a great remedies for constipation, as mentioned, it has oodles of health benefits.  Having heart disease in his family, I am devoted to leading him into a healthy lifestyle that he will adhere to for the rest of his life.  In the next blog I will share with you GREAT ideas to get your kids and family members to eat healthy food.  Studies show they want to and will be proud to tell their friends.

Kids Eating Healthy will start a whole New Life Pattern. Help them to Avoid Diseases that are starting to affect children. Children are showing signs and symptoms and blood test results for Diabetes and early Heart Diseases. We need to get back to basics. Take time to sit down and have a family meal. Slowly add those healthy foods. Remember, have a hungry family when you are serving new and healthy items. They will be a lot more willing.
